Can clinker SO3 perform the same functions as gypsum SO3 i.e. regulate setting time, control the rate of early strenght development and control shrinkage of cement.

Dear sir,

1) What is the significance of the raw meal residue measurement on 90 micron and 212 micron sieves, respectively.?

2) In some plants, we use to determine the clinker litre weight of clinker size between-10mm +6 mm sieves, while in some plant determine the clinker litre weight of clinker size between -10mm & +5mm sives. Please clarify, what is the significance of this clinker size for measuring clinker litre weight.

When trying to verify book inventory against silo measurements, the only way for us to match the book tonnage is to have the bulk density go out of range. For example, normal range is 66-88 lb/ft3. Well, in order to make my inventory with the silo I need to use a density of 97 lb/ft3.

To me, this makes sense because the material is compacting further as the silo gets fuller, the question is however, if it is possible for the material density to increase all the way to 97 lb/ft3. In this case the material is fly ash, however we are experiencing the same problem with other additives and types of cement.

my coal ball mill is 2.5 *4m with 10 tph having coal with 7 % input moisture & 1 % output moisture.

it is connected with a auxiliary furnace.

i want to calculate the amount of coal fired into the furnace to get grind the coal.

Mill outlet temp . 80 deg

velocity through mill 1.5 m/s

gr. media in mill is 27 t

We are facing a big break down due to the failure of kiln main drive gear box due to the failure pinion shaft brgs of main gear box now my question is

Can we rotate the kiln without auxilliary drive by the means of sling wire with loader or somewhat else, is any body has such experience?

Sir, We are using Bauxite and Iron ore as flux for type 1 clinker.Now that bauxite is costing more when compared to Iron ore Is it possible to reduce bauxite consumption cosiderably and use iron ore in its place..In that  case to what extent we go down in bauxite consumption and what are all the operational difficulties we  come across??Your valued advice is highly appreciated.

can we convert a FLS SLC kiln 5000 tpd to a ILC one?

If yes how?

 At present we are having separate PH for kiln & PC & TA goes to PC.

Actually we are facing problem of high fall through the TA duct near PC pit.

Can anybody suggest to make the fall through nil.

TA duct velocity is around 23-25 m/s.

Fuel 80 % petcoke & 20 % indian caol.

Litre weight 1100-1200

Our clinker designed with SR 2.5, LS 95.5. C3S according to calculation is arround 58%. If we wan to increase C3S upt to 62%, can we reduce SR and increase LS a bit without mineralization? Are there any problem with kiln operation and cement quality?

Anybody can share with me about this idea.
